Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

These are taken at the Anglican Church in Roma, Western QLD. I was there with the camera the other day, and found it a great location to try and get some different pics. The rest can be found at:

Tristan

#2 is superb - well spotted, well framed and well exposed. #4 isn't far behind.

Tristan - I like them all, and so rich in colour. One small point, thought from the heading on this thread, I thought you had found a new setting on your camera

Agree with Peter here, #2 is exceptionally well composed.

Bless you Tristan - for you have taken some wonderful photos ;)

Love number 2 - actually took me a moment to figure out what it was (no, I'm not blonde) :) And I actually like the 3rd - different perspective appeals to me.

I'm sure the church would love a copy

It's a Canon; as used by God himself, so of course it has a religious setting

Nice set of photos - the first one I can't decide if I like or hate the OOF stuff in the front, but the rest are nice captures.

Canon 20D and a bunch of lovely L glass and a 580EX. Benro tripod. Manfrotto monopod. Lowepro and Crumpler bags. And a pair of Sigma teleconverters, and some Kenko tubes.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Dion, I am glad that you enjoyed them - 1/2 of them are taken with your old lens. :P

Rel - I am glad that you like the different perspective in 3, that is what I was trying for.

Number 2 came out alot better then I hoped as well.

I was back again there today, got these couple:

The last couple were taken with a close up filter FWIW.

There are a couple more at http://photos.ozonejunkie.com/v/occasions/stpaulroma/

I have given the church a copy as well, and they said that they would probably use them for some bookmark prints. :D

Wow! You're certainly making it sing! Maybe I should have kept it

Some great shots in here Tristan, Love #2 you got in spot on, and nicely spotted.
#3 almost there, pity about the non straight candles...

#4 almost nailed the framing of this one.

Second batch

#2.1 I appreciated the idea, but don't think you pulled it off here

#2.2 Like this one, another good spot

#2.3 this is very nicely executed, a fairly common subject but brought to light nicely.

Thanks for those comments Craig - The 1st one in the second bunch I was not quite happy with the composition of, but it was the best i could do, i already had the (cheap) tripod extended higher then it should be, sitting on a couple bench seats. I needed another couple inches of height to compose it the way i wanted to.

Thanks
