Here it is through the telescope. Unfortunately, BBJ and Marvin were unable to use their nikons as the wrong part had been placed in the box from Adelaide...but we had a good night looking through the telescope.

What sort of magnification do you get in ashot like this BigV? What a shame about the technical difficulties. Can you please post the exif data for me.

Willy, 400th of a sec, ISO 100...no aperture as the camera was connected to the telescope. I had placed a 6.3 focal reducer on the scope, which took the 2000mm f10 down to a 1260mm 6.3
Marvin and BBJ were nearly blinded by the moon when looking through the scope at it...
This is what it looked like without the focal reducer..

So true, it near burnt our eyes out, had to let eye get used to it being so bright. Was truely amazing and very different looking at all the other suns etc... and BV's lazer is nothing to be sneazed at as Marvin and myself had a lil play with and damn that is bright.

Great pic BigV and definitely the best telescope shot I have seen as well.
Quick question for you, how do you do your frames?? Are they a photoshop action?? Ive been hunting for a frame that looks similar to this for ages (I have what I want in my minds eye, but cant quite actually specify what it should look like).

The camera needs a t-adapter, which attaches to your camera body like a normal lens but instead of having glass etc, it is just a hollow metal tube of 2 inch diameter which is then attached to the telescope..
My frames are an action that I found and slightly
modified...
