this is part 4

I had 1 day t soot the boys, client decided to help me out here by cancelling the second boy and just shooting with boy 1 hunter, whcih was much simpler.

Now i had limited time on shoot day 3 i had used up my weeks post production time onthe girls Infra red compsoited images, so i had to art direct the boys shoot in a way that would be different to the girls IR series but still be cohesive with the whole winter campaign

So i thought girls series is dreamy surreal and wonderous, so i can art direct the boys set to be dreamy but ominously dark with iminent danger to give it that dramatic edgy look and inadvertantly make it look exciting, instead of having boring lifeless poses. Initially I wanted to shoot in an urban scenewith street lights, graffitti alleys etc because hte boys range of cloithes were very urbanised, but that concept would of been too far away the girls concept, so i had to shoot in natural scene but just shoot dark with contrasty lighting to knock of the background as much as possible.

here are the results:
Image
hunter was very active he liked dancing and breaking which was cool, in some there is incipient. drama happening which is what i wanted it's a nice contrast to the floaty feel of the girls series, overall the scenes still look wonderously surreal and or mysterious which was a big aspect of the fred bare art direction for this campaign.

the big images got final selection to go in the catalogue
Image
the imageof hunter in the dreamy pose was one of the only ones with that sort of expression the rest hinted incipient drama

thats a wrap.

Great shots Wendell. Lovely feel to them and the effect of high contrast works a treat.

These have a whole different look to the girls ones. More dark and moody, trying to make little boys look like macho men.

Great Job Wendell the lighting really serves you well here, and I think you followed the art direction well, providing something that's different yet still coherent with the girls shoot!
