Whilst over in Perth I had a little time to spare so ahd a play with the kit 18-70 with one 20mm extension tube. Most of the shots were at 70mm. Not too bad a stand while I wait for my macro to arrive :D

All were Aperture Priority around f/11. No flash or tripod, just very bright WA sunlight 8)

Banksia, Kangaroo Paw and some Yellow stuff :D

Sharp and vividly coloured images Mark. Your macro work is really hotting up :) I really like the second last one, ite sharpness together with the complementary OOF background.

Slider,
Great use of your ex kit lens.
Once you have your new macro lens, I'm sure we will see lot of stunning macro photos. BTW, Hope you'll received them at Rockhampton on Friday.
