Just one photo from this morning. This shot is an attempt at being a bit more interesting in my photography. Critiques welcome.

Nice work Doug, the PP'ed version really has some life to it, big improvement to the 'raw' version I saw earlier.

Thanks Geoff, it does. :) Thanks very much Geoff for organising this great event! Genista and I both enjoyed it, and we'd do it again any day. :)

Thanks Wendell :) I enjoyed looking at your series, and the photos you took with my camera too. ;)

Thanks Craig, of course the PPed version is better. You know how bad all of my photos look straight out of the camera. :)

big pix, thanks for your comment. I appreciate you suggestion very much. :)

Luxurious colours, as all that were present would know. One point I'll make tho - sharpening seems a touch too much, as I can see a halo around the metal bars against the sky.

Great contrast, a unique viewpoint, good composition altho it seems to be a bit 'leading to nowhere'-ish for me. The magic's in the sky IMO, there are all these distracting bars in the way... maybe clone them out. ;)

Thanks Leigh. You'll see other photos I took when I PP them. At the moment I only have time for this one. ;)

Onyx, thanks for letting me know about the oversharpening. I can't see any halos on my monitor, or LittleB's. Anyone else? The composition was suppose to lead to the bars framing the landscape in the background. I guess it doesn't work :? When I look at the photo, my eye is lead to that bit of land.

Same here Doug, it was my first thought when I saw the pic. Other than that it's wonderful. :)

As can I, thought I didn't notice the first time. I want to see some of the wsave shots PP'd Doug, they looked very promising straight out of the camera.

Doug

1. Great shot
2. Halos here too
3. Agree with Bernie re: crop
4. If you wanted the eye led to the island you need a lower perspective (less water under the island)
