Well I (and Panofactory) whiped this shot up in a couple minutes when I was at Doug and Genista's and I was happy enough with it first go to post it here for you critique, this was another handheld pano (one of a few I did on the walk)

Feedback welcome! Usually I upload my pano straight from the factory to you, but this time I took a few minutes to PP it a little... does it work ?

excellent image it's dam wide and i can see more than i could ever if i was just standing there

now i see why you held up the group while we were makign our way back to dee why

technically i can see a few merge lines but that's easily fixed, what i am most impressed about is panofactory and yourself managed to merge the water quite well, i did a pano years back with my coolpix of a scene with an ocean and when i manually stitched it the variation waves in each pic threw off the smoothness of the final composite.

Wendell - This was a quick job with jpegs, I can redo this with higher quality shots and spend some time on the seams I think it might have potential... (I also liked how the water seemed pretty normal/ almost seamless).

i love it! nicely saturated.. great contrast... and interesting all over. nicely done mate...

Very nice Pano Craig. Awesome. That would be worth printing at a reasonable size and framed.

Oh one very small thing - On the left side, that palm branch that sticks out from the side I think either needs cropping or cloned out. But that is just me.

Craig the rooves of the houses (I presume) in the front left foreground tend to detract a little from this pano, which in all other respects is very good.

Thanks for the feedback John. I am sort of in a tight situation with the roofs. I couldn't get any more elevation from where I was shooting (didn't bring the ladder ) I could completely crop out the whole left hand side starting at the roof line, but then you miss the "second headland".

If I cropped it from the bottom I'd lose a lot of the beach (which I really like) so I don't really want to do that.

I don't think my PP skills are up to cloning out the whole house and trees as a possible third option.

While image is quite sharp and view is very good you can clearly see where frames were stitched. Also such a high contrast not in my taste at all though it has a right to exist

Hlop - Usually I don't PP my pano's at all, but have come under a fair bit of fire for the lack of punch, contrast, staturation or something along those lines. So I can definitely see where you coming from with this one.. The contrast did help lessen the affect of the "fog / sea spray" that was in a lot of my shots.


( I still haven't found any visible seams myself, and I shot it so I should, so I'm fair embrassed others can see it).
