Red Eyed Fly

THE WIND IS YOUR ENEMY!!!

Since I don't have a car at the moment I thought I'd go out into the backyard and see what I could find. The 'breeze' (= hurricane in macro land) was a little strong and out of 60 or so images this is the only one in focus...

I tried the same shot at many appatures (wanted to find out where the sweet spot was with this setup) but this was the only sharp one DOF is so small that only the tip of the eye is tack sharp.

D70, Sigma 180, 68mm extension, 1.4x TC, SB800, Softbox, tripod

ISO200, F8, 1/100

Man that is shallow! The eyes look huge. :shock:
