Uuuuh nooo... that thing was very much alive and hanging just outside our kitchen window waiting to catch flies and suck their guts out! :shock:
To take the pic, I had to have the lens (Sigma 50mm 1:1 macro) just a few cm away from the spider.
This task was made much more "interesting" by the fact that it was a windy evening and the thing was moving back and forth right in front of my face!
I used an external flash and shot this at f22 (if I remember correctly)
Used PS to remove part of the background and then added a drop shadow to the legs to give the impression they were "sticking out" of the picture, so to speak.
Not sure if I succeeded entirely, but I found the effect is interesting nonetheless.

I would have needed a lens with VR cos I would have been shaking that much. :lol: :lol: Probably wouldn't turn out anyway. Nice capture Westcoast 8)
