Oz Day 2006. A different perspective (DU Warning)

As I threatened here I went down to Carss Park today and tried to take some different pictures. I didn't completely stick to my "dark side" theme, however the fun ride pics are not what you would see everyday. Anyway, on with the show:

1. The flag and the sign say it all about what a diverse nation we are:
Image

2. Dumped.
Image

3. Can you believe there is a grave smack bang in the middle of thousands of people celebrating Australia Day? (The guy who founded the area, guess he wanted a waterview)...
Image

4. I thought of several captions for this pic, but none of them M rated
Image

5. A footpath designed by a commitee?
Image

6. A fellow forum member who wishes to remain anonymous and probably wishes me dead when she sees this.
Image

7. Cops at play. Notice how they are only using the thin blue line..
Image

8. As close as I've ever got to a self portrait. The crap is on the mirror, not my CCD.

The first pic will bring some holler. Who cares! get on with it. The rest are part of our culture which is unique. And great shots to boot. I bet the cops get in the shit for having fun.

LOL I found the uncaptioned cone shaped face quite hilarious too. The shape of the mouth, those 'hinting' eyebrows, etc.

Good to see you had a fun day out John.

That anonymous forum member seems to be having great fun too. :)

I can't imagine why on earth that would happen - care to explain?

Cheers

roflmao!

Maybe it's just the (several) crowns I've had tonight, but these pics are brilliant ;)
Especially like the coppers and Niko.... ;) As for that bouncy castle thingy, there's definately something going on there!
Sorry I missed you guys - got caught up doing some speaker rewiring and lost track of time. The TV sounds good now though! ;)

I like the last two John It just needs to be straightened up a bit in my opinion .

I had to laugh at the dumped rubbish with the stickers on it . More effort has gone into putting those stickers on than would have been needed to take the damn stuff away , i'm sure whoever dumped it is quaking in there boots at the on going investigation . Govt. at its finest again .

Jethro: I don't see a problem, actually I see the opposite. Considering what has happened recently, I find this little demonstration of unity quite encouraging and feel privilaged to capture the moment.

Chi: "Not that there is anything wrong with that"

Leon: With your obvious skills as a judge of "brilliant" imagery, I'm amazed that you haven't been elevated to the exalted rank of Moderator

I'm not going to kill you John. It just made me laugh! So much for remaining anonymous. Glad I thought to quickly shoot you shooting me! I have a nice shot of you behind the camera now.

Once I prised myself out of that tiny little space and managed to disengage my knees from my neck, we had a great day - kids had a ball!

Nice to meet up with you and Joanne & the boys yesterday and great pics!

Lynn
