Last couple of times I was walking through Sydney's Hyde Park, I was kind of mesmerised by the fountain and motion of the water at high shutterspeeds.... took a couple of photos.

Suggestions for improvement appreciated:

To my eye the contrast appears very overdone, making the images harsh.

I like the harsh contrast, it makes the metal fish look hard, but the water softens it (at least thats what I reckon).

I think you've PP'd them right in making black and whites also, looks real good. Nice and sharp images, the water droplets look fantastic.

While I agree with what's been said tus far, I find the images are too busy. There's no isolation of the foreground from the background, or, to be more accurate, the subject from the rest of the image content.

I'd probably be bumping the shutter speed another stop or two and opening the aperture accordingly to reduce the DoF, or perhaps looking for a different angle into the subject so as to isolate the primary subject more readily.

I like teh way number two looks like the fish has jumped out of the water. I too think that the images are just a little too busy.
I don't mind the the strong contrast.

Definitely needs more separation between background and foreground as Gary suggests... the third photo in particular is suffering from a lack of separation.

Thanks for the feedback everyone: I will make my way around there again sometime over the next week, and will try to incorporate some of the suggestions!

(Like I need an excuse to take more photos)
