My first few photos getting a feel of the Sigma 150 F/2.8 Macro. Lovely solid feel, tripod collar rather clunky but should loosen up. Seems really sharp and quick focussing but can hunt a bit with images with low contrasts. Colour is rich and the lens produces images with good contrast. Very pleased with its performance but just like a racing car need to practise to get the best out of it. :) Critique and comments welcome as always :)

#1 Early morning testing the Sigmas use as a general lens

#2 Abstract with backlighting

#3 Another abstract with slight variation and fill flash SB600 of background

#4 Pink flowered vine in backyard with off camera SB600 fill flash

#5 Variation with pink buds above with off camera SB600 fill flash

I hopefully will work my way down to the real macro stuff i bought it for :)

Great stuff Marco, I actually took some shots of similar leaves yesterday unfortunately it was only the kit lens so none of the lovely close up detail, but they look great backlit!

Very nice Marco. :D I am sure you will enjoy your 150 as much as I am enjoying the 180. Looks nice and sharp.

Thank you all for the kind comments. After a lot of deliberation between it and the 105 Micro nikkor. Yes I am pleased with my purchase and I thoroughly recommend it. To be honest I really did lust for the 200 Micro Nikkor but I had to be realistic with the $ Anyway when I visit south-east q'ld again i'm sure Kevin will let me have a play with his
cheers
