A couple of images from the Canberra micromeet on Saturday night. Some a similar to Willigan and Mr/Mrs ru32day's due the close proximity of each other.

The conditions were pretty ordinary and not really the best - lots of smoke, heat haze and strong winds. As the light faded it was pretty hard to get clear sharp long exposures due to the wind.

I really needed a grad ND for this. Just before sunset, conditions on arrival:

What would normally be the postcard view if less windy and murky:

Back down a ground level it was bit easier with longer exposures:

Hi Daniel,

some very nice shots.
I would have loved to be there.
I haven't seen the Memorial and the memorials by night personally; yet.
I like the Nurse's memorial.
I've seen it during daytime; very nice; and at night brilliant.
Thanks a lot for sharing.

Regards,
CD

Nice shots there Daniel - you got a bit more out of the lookout pics than I managed & nice colours at the Nurses' Memorial. The horizon on the AWM is a little off tho & a bit too tight on the right.

We'll have to get together for another meet soon, hopefully under better conditions.

Thanks for the feedback.

CD - the Nurses memorial is really an unseen masterpiece. Even at night, it's not visible to the naked eye like this - you need a 10s exposure to really bring it out. Most of the memorials are far more spectacular at night, but hardly anyone sees them then unfortunately (but this makes for a good photo-op as there's no one to get in the way!)

Willigan - yes, you're right re the AWM - I think I corrected this in photoshop, then it took a break in the land of crashes and I somehow missed it on the second go. We'll see if we can organise another meet soon.

Great series of photos at your Canberra meet.
I like the Nurse Memorial colour with your technique, seen it at night before but didn't have the same as of your photo.

Looking forward to meet you again at Barrington Tops photo trip.

That's something I understand completely. Only for me it's more common for Excel taking breaks at work :(

Another meet would be great, maybe by the lake or parliamentary triangle?
