More pics taken in Christ Church Cathedral last Monday using my tripod and natural light. This time all shots are with the 10.5/2.8 DX Nikkor fisheye lens. Some images have been defished to varying degrees using DxO Optics Pro. For a larger version click a pic.

Peter - You've revisited this with fresh eyes and importantly the tripod! I can see a huge improvement from your last cathedral set. The fish eye is just singing for you, and is sounds like the voice of a choir of angels. (Well maybe not quite that good, but damn good).

Glen. It's a great lens. While it's primarily a special effects lens and shines in architectural shots like these, it really lends itself to more than that. Images 6 & 7 for example have minimal distortion since they've been defished, yet they are much wider than I can get with the 12-24. Plus it's 2.8 - while these scenes are very bright, the cathedral is dark like you'd expect in a church.

You're really making this lens sing Peter, and DxO Optics Pro is doing a very good job of de-fishing! Excellent stuff all round, as Glen says.

Thanks for your comments. I think the fish eye works really well in a building of this scale and the tripod was a bonus since it allowed much longer exposures (my hand held shots were at 640 ISO, these were at 200.

Wayne - didn't think of the wine link & I'd drunk a bottle of the Devil's Lair only a week ago.

Couldn't resist. One last fisheye shot. This one was taken on my camera by Kevin (mitedo) using zero legs since he was lying on the floor.

Well crafted images Peter and a considerable improvement on the first series. I particularly like the colour rendition and the balance in the compositions. #1 and #6 are my favourites.
cheers
