Sheepie's Cataract Dam - Pt1, Pano's

I'm going to split my Cataract Dam shots into three posts categorised by Panos, Group, and General. I'll add some pictures as I get them processed. Others, I'll just post straight to my smugmug site. Comments and helpful critique are encouraged :)

First one is a Pano from a series of 7 shots taken with the 12-24DX @ 24mm, f9 1/250 200ISO. It covers almost a full 180 degrees (it originally did, but I decided it looked weird with the dam at both ends so cropped part off).

Image

Not sure if there's anything I can do about the distortion in the dam buildings themselves, which is a pity. Also, if you look closely, you'll see Stubbsy's hat hanging over the side - I'm presuming Stubbsy's head was inside it ;)

Leon - This is a nice Pano.

I clicked for a larger version but it just linked me to the same shot, I'd like to see a bigger version to check out the detail. Is that MattB in his signature hat on the far left ?

So stubbsy lost his hat today at the dam?
If yes, then he'll be prosecuted by SCA about polution the water.
He also lost his eyecup!!!!!!
Last time on the Manly ferry, he dropped the lens hood of his 70-200VR down to the ocean bed
What will he loose next time in another outing trip?

A truly memorable shot, Sheepie.

One of those ones that captures the feel of the place rather than just the view.

it's a surreal image, composition delightful especially with matt in cowboy hat, our resident freak boy Leigh standing on a dam with a cute house thing to the left
excellent work

nice pano.
glad someone was able to get some good shots today.

I went to wollemi national park,
where apparently the world arsehole, yodelling and noise making championships were in full swing.

Your pano shots always the best.

Well done.

Leon,

I'm going to ask you to go into the original components of this and have a look at your WB. The colours look "off" to me. I'm seeing a green (or cyan - haven't yet decided which it really is) cast on the sandstone buildings on the left, and I'm seeing a somewhat yellowish cast over the rh side of the image. This is somewhat evident (to me) in the sky, but I'm also seeing it in the water as well.

The overall effect is great, but I'd like to see the colours corrected and then see this redone with a (hopefully) even better image that this already is.
