Urban images

Went for a stroll around Sydney city last Sunday with Matt K & Philo. Here is the first batch of images. A little different to my usual style so I'd be very interested in feedback on these:

I like them Peter.
#1 is very well composed and contains a lot of juxtaposed elements giving the viewer a lot to think about yet not too busy or too confounding.
#2 very gritty/earthy feel typical of good reportage. #3 whilst in the same vane doesn't do much for me
Last image similar comment to #2. I like the counterplay between the phrase and the image. Having said that there is just not enough IMO for my eyes and thoughts to focus on. As much as it is minimalist I'm left scanning all over for something.

Nice to see you pushing yourself outside your comfort zone.

#1 Very clever and the more you look the more you see, I think it works well

#2 Really like this shot works well and the treatement is great

#3 This one I'm undecided about, I like it as it seems very 'vintage' but its also a little (hmmm 1 dimensional) if that make sense ?

#4 Great spotting with this one, love the concept and you've captured it well

Love seeing urban pics and the various ways of going about it from different people. Not too sure about the 3rd pic as a b&w as it's quite busy. It's making me nauseous actually trying to figure out what to look at (I'm hungry right now so can't concentrate)

love the 2nd and 3rd it's soo graphic and strong, not only talkign about the contrast but the composition is very strong especially on the 2nd

like the dimension and concept in the first as well, but somewhat not as strong as 2 and 3

Sharp edged and gritty 1960's style black and white. Well done. The last one is the standout image for me. A fine art example and should be part of a series.
