Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Got some good shots of the 'wet' dragonfly, copperback brood frog and the stick insect, but since others have already posted these guys I thought I'd try and post something different.

Lovely shots. The macros are sweet, very sweet, colours, sharpness, texture, bokeh - it's all good. Going to go drool over a good macro lens! Nice work. Seems like you guys had some fun too! The Sydney meet was good too.

Some great shots there - love the d'fly and the ladybirds gettin' it on! 8)

Canon 20D and a bunch of lovely L glass and a 580EX. Benro tripod. Manfrotto monopod. Lowepro and Crumpler bags. And a pair of Sigma teleconverters, and some Kenko tubes.

Tinchi Tamba outing...

Thanks for the great comments everyone.

pgatt - the ladybugs and the fly on the white flowers are the only one's I took with Rel's 105mm Nikkor. The rest were taken with my Tamron 70-300. Not a particularly great lens, but I do like the results I get with it on the macro setting. I don't think it's a true macro though, some of the more technically minded might be able to expand on that a bit. Most of these were cropped as well.

Tim's fish was delicious... should have taken a closeup :D

Tim - got a couple of okay frog shots, but didn't bother to post them as others had already. I took lots trying out the flash - Rel showed me that I could alter the power of the built in... doh, didn't even know that as I don't use it much :oops:

These get togethers are great - so much to learn obviously.

It was a great meet and the barbie (especially the fish) was fantastic.

Judy - beautiful shots !!! You certainly took to that lens like a duck to water !! We'll have to go out again, and have another play :)

Hope the head is ok now? I've only just caught up on sleep (well, kind of anyway lol) ... so know how you felt.

Thanks for posting that. I usually really dislike pics of myself but this one is great.

Thanks for the comments Michael. I can still taste the fish. (Well, you know what I mean!)

Rel - that'd be great... sleep caught up thank goodness. Had a shocker yesterday, slept nearly all day and ended up waking up this morning with a doozie of a head cold. Didn't go to work, but will have to get real tomorrow and get back into it.

Took a few moonrise pics tonite - man, I've got to do something about cleaning the sensor. Took me forever to clean the pics up in PP :shock:
