Shot with my 20D through glass at Taronga Zoo

Does shallow DOF work here?

Shallow DOF works for me here, a nice shot and I can't see any artifacts to indicate it was shot through glass. This is another one of those zoo shots that plays on your heart strings.. there is such a latent intelligence and sadness for me in this shot, I'm not sure if that was your intention but that's how it comes across to me. Well done.

shallow DOF makes this.

I think the hand may be lost otherwise

Thanks Craig and Steve. I intended that the image be somewhat emotive and shooting at f/2 (I think) on my 135 f/2, I think it works.

Here is a shot of a female gorilla, again taken through glass with very low light with shallow DOF.

Not as sharp as I would like.

For me the first shot is a little too shallow in dof... would like to at least have his front hand fully in focus, including the wrist... but also possibly the other hand as well. Otherwise I quite like the composition.
