I did a few shots of a friend of mine yesterday before it rained, only got 50 or so pics done.

Id like constructive criticism on this pic please :)

Before I give some contructive criticism Michael, can I ask have you done much PPing to it already? I see some (quite a lot) blur on everywhere on her face. Shallow DOF when shot or post production blurout? I'd be interested to hear what you've done to the image already. Cheers :)

Michael, the f3.5 aperture has left the chin a little soft (as Geoff pointed out). I like the image, very romantic and dreamy (maybe a Valentines Day gift for the boyfriend?), just a fraction soft for me.

I think the b&w conversion is good... the shallow dof works well....

perhaps the eyes need to be a little 'larger' ... but i like it... nicely done. PS. any shots from beaudesert?

cheers

A very effective image Michael. Like your use of DOF to create a warm and ethereal feel

Thanks for the comments

To answer a few questions all i've done PP wise is B/W border and a blurred lighting vignette thats it.
I was hoping to achieve softness of the face just to give it a certain feel and mainly just to focus on her face in general I wasn't too worried about having everything tack sharp.

and xerebus the champs aren't on for another few weeks so I won't have any till then. you're friend matt hayes is apparently the OFFICIAL photographer for the weekend, I don't know if ill make it or not because I may have scored a wedding tonight that is on the saturday of the games.
