Taken from our patio in our garden last weekend on a lemon tree. Pruned back an extended branch and placed a bird lollipop on the branch. We also have a hanging platform with seed on it. These birds return every summer to our garden, this year we had also Eastern Rosellas. We've also had two I believe Brown Thornbills (small birds) hanging around near our garden, something I haven't seen in 20 years of living here.

Weather has been overcast a lot recently so opted for high ISO.

Nice image Darryl,

We used to have to have heaps of these fellas in our backyard or nearby, along with some fairly tame rosellas. Just up the road from Woolgoolga at a place called Redrock they will actually eat from your hand. They are spectacular to photograph, the colour is amazing.

The birds up at Grants Picnic ground will eat out of your hand, but I've tried to get these birds to. They're just getting used to me now and I can approach them upto about 2M.

I dont feed them though.
they get what they need from the blossums that are around.

they dont seem to mind the camera either..

Well I don't mind feeding them aslong as it's seed they get. Unfortunately with development their natural food sources are reducing. Along with violent storms tearing down lots of flowering gums. Aslong as it's seed they get I don't think it matters.

a neighbour keeps putting seed out for the birds.
has a feeder and seed bells.
is funny because there are a lot of sulphur crested cockatoos around here and you often see them in my yard with the neighbours seed bell.
They knock em off as soon as they can lift them
