oh yeh, it was taken at the "Jump ups" just north of Tibooburra in far north west NSW.
I was pretty lucky with the colours as it had just finished some heavy soaking rains out that way
[go figure ... i go to the desert and it rains  ]

Ah yes, Tibooburra, the town with it's alluvial streets. There's gold in those hills.

Great image and very much a 4WD piccie. There's no wonder you won.

squint ?

it was taken with a fisheye so unless i had the horizon exactly in the centre it may be bowing slightly ... is that what you mean by squint ?

I can see whay you've done so well with this image...

The colors are grabbing and the contrasts and textures in the foreground rocks and the sky are brilliant, the foreground subject imparts the real stark, dry continent and a lone traveller, great combination of complimentary colors too...

That's a printer that one... :)
