Frank, I really like the colour and contrast in photo #2. Its not an obvious choice for a shot but I like the reds, greens and browns. #4 is also quite unusual and really caught my eye. Well done.

Nice photos Frank. 3 & 4 stand out for me.

The first one is such a lovely scene picture, it must of been even better just standign there witnessing the scene

For me the first pic is the standout. As Wendell says, it has a lovely serene quality to it and a winderful subtlety that's difficult to capture.

Actually Peter, the inspiration for this shot is one of yours - the morning mist shot on the way to Jenolan Caves. Ever since seeing that shot many months ago, it's rattled around in the back of my head (plenty of empty space there), and when I saw this view last week I knew how I wanted it to look.
See what effect this forum has?!

The mood and exposure of the cloudy hills seems spot on and nicely framed... Good mood and ambience.

Very creatively done of the rich mulchy ground, well spotted and again nicely framed

The falls is also nicely done, smooth creamy water on what looks like fairly bright conditions, much PP on this one? Just wondering about the tone of the sky or whether it was really overcast (which is perfect conditions for waterfall stuff)?

The leaves of the plant in dappled light is a lovely image, nice foresty light...

The last one of the stump is nicely composed and seems well exposed too, but the first is the pick of the bunch for me...

PP was some adjustment using levels and highlights/shadows tool and smart sharpening. The sky was a bit too bright and sunny so I burnt it in a bit - I'm not too happy with the shade of grey that resulted, but it was still an improvement on the original too-bright sky.

Just thought of it and don't know if it would work or not, but wonder if a color replacement command with a sky selection, replacing the slight grey cast with say a pale blue or soft dark blue maybe?

Dunno, haven't tried it, was just thought it might be fun to try in PP, I just need to remember to try it on one of mine that's similar

Very nice colection Frank. The colours in the leaves in number 2 are particularly striking.

I agree with Stubbsy - the firs one is awesome, really, really nice shot. Like you I have had a shot like this rattling around in my head, but haven't found it yet! You found it and captured it beautifully, nice work. The tones and lines lead powerfully through the image.

Nice series of images Frank.. Number 1 is the standout for me. Wentworth Falls is such a beautiful spot and you've captured it wonderfully. By the way, what track(s) did you walk along while you were there?

I walked from the carpark down the access road - this is where image 1 was taken - towards the top of Wentworth Falls, and then detoured along the Darwin's Walk track (images 2 and 5). I then backtracked to Queen's Cascades (image 3), and then went up and down Rocket Lookout (image 4). By that time I was stuffed - it was getting warm and humid and I forgot to take food and water (I didn't anticipate being out for 4 hrs) - and I didn't even get to descend into the valley next to the main falls - maybe that's tomorrow's or Friday's adventure (it's my last week of leave, so I have to start cramming before back to work next week )

You've covered a bit of ground then. If you have time, go for a walk along the national track. It's just been restored, is relatively easy (for a fit person) and has some of the most spectacular views to be found anywhere in the Blue Mountains. It's long been a favourite of mine. Start at the Valley of the Waters walk andthen cross onto the National Pass. Come up from the bottom of the waterfall (this part is steep). Make sure you take water as it can get very warm this time of year and a handful of lollies for energy.
