Awesome
I can immediately see the excellent contrast acheived by those 2 flashes, the tone is excellent
it's Monster Children material

Your lighting is excellent. For some time I've been examining pics from magazinces, and I'd say the one thing your pics lack is a more dramatic, upwards angle, but with a 50mm I suppose you didn't have that option. Apparently for boarding the wider the better.

cool i used to shoot skateboarding culture when i was a teenager
one trick is to lie on the floor and shoot up even with a 50mm you can get a dramatic angle

you could submit these url]http://www.furstmedia.com.au/[/url] they are a good contact for some street culture press

thanks for the link but i've never submitted anything before so don't really know what i'm doing.

i thought about getting low for the first pic but in doing so would dramatically make the stairs look even shorter than what they do now. having a fisheye would help but i'm still saving for that one and don't know if i should get a fisheye for my canon or for my bronica. i'm still undecided if i should keep my canon setup and shoot soley MF :?

Don't know the frist thing about this style, but just gotta say the lighting on these makes these shots immediately stop me... Good to get such detail and sharpness etc...

I'm no pro when it comes to lighting but I find the 'lit from below' look a little strange - looks "flashy" for want of a better word!

Maybe raising your lights up to either the same height or higher than the subject might result in a less "flashy" look.

Unless of course you want "flashy" - in which case, congrats you've cracked it!

Liam =] PS - "flashy has just become my word of the day!"

Lighing frm below is great for mags as it lights up the artwork on the bottom of the board, making sponsors happy. Very cool shots mate.

i've just ordered a sb 800 from kris (member here) - cant wait to start seeing what a flash will add to my very basic photos skills

I love the atmosphere created by lighting here - what settings used?

theres a sk8 bowl across the road I might have a go at this w/e.

thanks R2
