Arriving at a carpark next to Lake Illawarra just after dawn on Wednesday, I got out of the car (next to a screen of trees) and wandered down to the shore, without camera gear - I just wanted to see what kind of view there was. I rounded the trees and saw this sunrise happening - needless to say, I bolted back to the car to get the gear, and rattled off a few shots before the show finished (click image to view larger version).

It's the best time of the day eh? Great mood in the sky in these and nicely exposed, love the texture and shape in the sky in the last, almost tempted to do a little dodge and burn to bring out the rays in the middle layer of sky...

great photos frank i like the third shot best but all are good.
