Caught this nice moment when out fishing last weekend.

Nice capture. I imagine it would have been a difficult shot to meter properly. The colours around the beak are different. What type of bird is it? (sorry to all those with bird knowledge!).

A lovely behavioural shot oneputt. A cuple of points -I think the striped yellow highlights in a way are distracting as they tend to grab the eyes but their angle tends to lead the eye back to the bird. I believe a more neutral OOF background would have greater effect. Secondly, IMO the image is a little over exposed (around .33 to .66 less exposure would render the white plumes with more detail and add a little more contrast to the head and whole image. If you captured in raw (tut tut if you didn't ) I'd experiment with a little less exposure and curves adjustment to add more contrast and perhaps see the effect of removing the strped yellow light from behind and introducing more of that lovely olive green tone. I think your composition is great

Marco thank you for your suggestions. Yes I did shoot in RAW, doesn't evryone Actually this shot looks better at 100%, but I agree with the distracting and odd background.

Nice image John.... but I have added a little gaussian Blur and some lens blur......EDIT: could have given it a bit more.......
