Hi all,
Here is a shot of a Tawny Frogmouth with her 2 chicks (most people don't see the well-camouflaged adult). It was taken high in a tree in eucalyptus forest near Canungra, south-east Queensland.
Critique and comments welcome
Cheers

Fantastic Michael. Any wonder most people don't see the adult birds...

Awesome. The chicks really make the shot.

The adults aren't the most photgenic birds around

Mark and Andrew,
Thanks for comments.
Yeah, the chicks are cute, aren't they? Amazing how close you can get without the parents leaving their chicks. Very protective parents, that's for sure.

Amazing shot..well spotted. The chicks draw you towards the amazingly camoflagued parent.
One evening I was sitting out on the verandah and a frogmouth flew down and sat on a verandah post about 12 foot away. I didn't move and it didn't move for about half an hour.
Congrats on an outstanding photo.

Great shot. The camoflague of the adult is amazing. If You hadn't mentioned it I would not have seen it.
