I did! Thankyou :)

Looks like the use of a smaller aperture has allowed the flash to highlight the fish against the background - I've had trouble doing this, as the normally lighter background has tended to overwhelm the fish.

You've given me some motivation to have another go ;)

Nice. :)

I'd need to clean my glass before I could get any clear shots.

WW- Nice work these are some tidy aquarium shots, almost feels like you in with the fish. Do the fish mind the flash ?

Went shooting my burning matches (for the recent challenge) I realised I'd been scaring the scales of my Betta who was only a foot away pyrotechnics and 3 foot from the camera.

Seems to be a bit like that at our place too. :)

The 'tank lust' is nearly as bad as the 'lens lust'.

Our "big" tank is now considered too small and we have a bigger one on the way.

He's going to have fun trying to do that in that tank - although I don't think the coral and anemone would like it... They prefer salt water ;)

These fish here are Cichlids, from Africa - Lake Tanganyika if I'm not wrong. I have Cichlids too, although mine (other than a Frontossa which is also from L.Tanganyika) are from Lake Malawi - also in Africa. They are fresh water, not too different to normal 'tropicals' - but much nicer and more interesting fish to keep than your standard guppie!

Yup African cichlids from Lake Tanganyika. I will try and find some corals and other things to shoot in coming weeks.

Cheers for nice compliments guys

Steve

I thought they are saltwater marine fish! there you go, I learnt something new everyday.

I have 2 x amphiprion ocellaris (aka clown fish) and a few bubble anemone. Will post up some photos when I have time

Hi Scott,

some nice fish you've got there and also very well photographed.
It may be my eyes or my monitor or an (in)accurate observation:
It would seem to me that the fish could do with a tiny little fill flash.
I think they could benefit from a little bit of extra lighting compared to their background.

Cheers,
CD

p.s.: are you going to Skyfire on Saturday ?
