I Like it Pa. Loose the frame though, especially the shadow inside the frame at the bottom.

Nice colours, nice and sharp and the reflection is fantastic. I agree that the frame adds nothing and the image would look better without it.
Well done.

You can stop posting these horible pictures any time you like
Love the reflections! Would also like to see this closer-in to the sunburst, perhaps in portrait, with more emphasis on the sun rays coming out the top of the cloud

Great shot. The reflections are very strong and add a real balance to the image.
The frame is a very subjective matter. Seeing the shot in any type of frame can give you an idea as to how it will look when framed and hanging on someones lougeroom wall.

Sublime Pa, great work. Particularly like the non-framed version.

I have looked at this image for a while and couldn't figure out what was striking discord in me but I think I have worked it out. Pa it's a beautiful image alright, but the thing that was a bit discordant was the reflection in the water of the clouds they are considerably darker than the actual clouds themselves. Perhaps the darker foreground has contributed but I'm not sure. It just seems out of place in an otherwise fantastic image. Did you try some dodging to darken the reflected image for effect?
cheers

marco i noticed that as well and thought it might have had something to do with the ripples, as you look in closer the reflections are not as dark thanks for your comments geoff, steve, rob, mcwb, and chris yes it was taken looking east over the manning. at the moment the south entrance to the river is blocked so its pretty calm where i took this.

Pa, I think you may have a dust bunny.
Just above where the sun is, in the blue sky above the clouds. Hard to say at this size, we'll have to have a look at it next weekend

Lovely image Pa. I can understand your addiction - it's not too often I get outta bed early enough to view a sunrise, but when I do, I always walk away with a silly grin on my face.
