Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Don't think I've posted any of these up here before, but here are 6 pics from Paris last August. C&C welcome, and there's more in the gallery. Should really try to find the time to process the rest too! :)

Trent, like the way you got all the patrons to fan out at the Louvre  The first is interesting, mirrors or unusual glass?

Thanks for sharing Trent :)
The Louvre is my fave out of all of these - nice perspective.

Actually neither, it was a series of cut-out images, all suspended to give the illusion of a 'broken reality'. Very cool effect! This was in the Luxembourg Gardens, as were the following things (no filters used :D):

Quite surreal!

The Louvre pic is one of my favourites too, glad you enjoyed them guys. :)

Trent at Jardin du luxemburg that mirror art installation must of been a temporary one, all i saw in that pavillion was a squashed bird and a copy oh la la. From the greenery it look looks like you were in Paris during Summer?

Thanks for posting Trent. I think for my #2 and the second last one are my pick of your shots. How did you find the locals responding to you walking around with your camera ? where you treated just as another tourist ?

Wendell: yeah, August last year. Was great to go in Summer this time, the first time I went it was in Winter!

Craig: thanks for the comments, seems the Louvre one is a winner. In terms of the locals and cameras, I didn't have any problems. The only issue I had was going into Printemps (sort of Myer/DJs equivalent) with my Computrekker AW on my back packed with gear. The security at the front asked to see my bag, saw what was inside, and promptly said words to the effect of 'oh no, you can't take photos in here'. Luckily my French is up to scratch, so I replied that I wasn't going to take any photos inside the shop, and was merely carrying my gear around. They were satisfied with this, and let me in. Why anyone would want to take photos of the inside of a deparment store still eludes me! :)

Well interestingly I've had similar experiences in shops in Singapore, back in my P&S days. I saw something cool my sister might want whipped out the camera and before I had taken a second shot, two guys were telling me photography was forbidden and demanding I delete the shots. After that I asked the store own first before taking any photos.

if they have a fashion show or the amazing domed interior of Galleries la fayette, the weird thing is trent ont he rooftop terrasse of Printemps there is an amzing view over paris lots of people go to printemps only to visit the terasse to take pics the security should of not had a problem in your case as he woudl get many people carrying cameras around such as myself.
