Classy!! VERY classy...magazine style for sure. Love to know the settings you used for this. Your mate must be pleased Owen!

If I had to be critical, the only thing I would say there seems to be a little bit too much shadow on the front right (as you look at it) bumper extending over the mazda logo and again in the botton left corner. Is this vignetting? Over all a GREAT shot...did you do much/any PPing to it? The background looks a little desaturated but this emphasises the car...I like it!

Hi Geoff. I noticed the dark corner as well... but had already saved and closed photoshop, so I will need to go back and reprocess I think. Basically it was shot at 70mm with the kit lens, at the widest aperture.. 4.5 I think - to try and blur the background a bit. Pretty much everything has been processed, the wheels where a bit dirty, got rid of the number plate and distracting background things, desaturated the background as you noticed, and added the vignette (using PT lens, if anyone has any other ways of adding a more subtle vignette I'd love to know).

Mate I think if you made the vignette more subtle as you would like to already - you'd definately be onto a winner. Repost if you can work through it to produce that effect. Again, nice work.

Agree with all the above, great shot. Good choice of lighting angle, appears to be coming from behind the car off the the right. Try cropping out the sky in the background. Maybe the whole shot needs warming up a little. Good PP.

I like the pic, but reduce or lose the vignetting as it's reducing the effect of PP you've done to it.

Very proffesional. Great shot and the car isn't half bad either

One quick tip I learned from a Mitsubishi photographer - shoot later! Wait for the sun to dip just below the horizon and shoot like a mad man..and don't be afraid to manouever the car around a little to minimise reflections of things like the trees on the bonnet.

But overall - very close to a professional image.

Great shot, class car (like all Mazdas), top notch.

I too would try to lose the vignetting. It's way too heavy, on both the front and rear of the car.

The darkish feel is otherwise great, and it suits the car very muchly.

Beetleboy, we went out during our lunch break so unfortunately the sun was right in the middle of the sky, thanks for the tips about the reflections though!

I applied a much slighter vignette and masked the car out of it so it didn't affect the colour of the car. Also slightly increased the red saturation to spice it up a bit more.

Yup that is looking better, the colour of the car suits it now...

ummm i'm acutally a fan of the vignetting tho i'd like to see more vig on the top and bottom of the frame and not so much on the car. very nice pic and very nice car.

Second shot is the winner Owen - good stuff. I actually didn't mind the original vignette but would have used a layer mask to ensure it didn't actually encroach on the vehicle itself, as it did in the first shot.

Terrific composition. I expect we're going to see some more top car shots from you in the future...
