Experimenting again.

Used the light from the skylight in the dining room. Dark green background and had the flower suspended 150mm above a white card to give some reflected light to the underside.

Mark,

Your macro shots have been really good lately and this is no exception. Using natural and reflected light can do wonders for a photo as well as the combination of natural light and flash.

Keep experimenting with these combinations as well as trying a smaller aperture (i.e. f16-22) for more DOF and the results will amaze you.

Cheers

Michael

Very nice...to be ultra picky I would have liked all of the bottom bits visible, a couple of the dangly bits have just been cut off a little bit....I'll refrain from turning this into a circumcision joke...

Soft overall even light is quite nice on some subjects and you have done a good job of this one........ but in general this style of lighting lacks modelling and shape for what is being photograph.........
