Pharmer - I think the first image really stands out against the others. It has a kind of 'stopped in motion' feel to it. The people crossing the road, the bikes parked and the girl in mid conversation on her phone. This is a stylish urban photograph...I can see it somehow in an advertising campain, perhaps for a mobile phone company...nice work!

I love the pics mate.
What lense did you use for each of them? Judging by how soft I've been told the 70-300 is and with the exif saying 70mm ish I'm gonna guess you used the 18-70? ..:: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicknav ::..

I used the Nikon 18-70 for these - pretty good lens, no complaints from me about it.
My Tamron 70-300LD is a little soft above 200, but slightly better than the Nikon 70-300G I tried - but hey, they are very cheap lenses and they are OK if you use F/8 - F/11
You've now confirmed my decision to get an 18-70 for my D70
