As suggested by some forum members, I tried carrying my camera everywhere I went, and these two shots came up. I know the subjects have been seen by many cameras - but the two scenes took my fancy. C&C would be great...

The blue in the second shot is not as intense as I remember it.

the 2nd one has great composition like the way you lined up the leadign lines with the other elements very well thought out

the firstshot of pier 2 is where i work, the very top 2 windows on the roof from the left is where i work

G'day,

Don't know the first thing about this sort of style shot but just to offer another viewers thoughts/ramblings :)

The first one has great color and saturation, seems excellent exposure, foreground just seems really busy to me with all the close lit windows. My eye seems to go to the bridge pylon (which has lovely light) and there seems to be a fair bit of open space in the sky with no texture, great color but no texture, maybe a slight crop off the top? Also find the stairs in the BR corner distracting, maybe either fully in frame or not in it??? Hmmm, wonder about a crop with some off the top and cut-off the stairs in teh BR cnr...?

The second is an interesting example of new tech and old craft, like the way you've framed it with the old craft being over-powered by the new tech stuff...

Nice shots Mitchell. The contrast of the grey foreground & rich colour of the background in no 1 is great.

Your avatar is a Sydney icon too :)

Nice work, I like the exposure and lighting in the first one, but for me the composition could of been better.

The second I really like the composition, it's been carefully done as wendell pointed out, and works well IMO.

Interesting composition. I prefer the second shot.

Yep, I need to carry my camera around with me more often.

Cheers for the tips - I re-cropped the first one to take out some sky and the stairs on the right. I like it much more.

Maybe I could see Wendell using a 1D, but unfortunately the 350D just doesn't cut it...
