takumar fisheye

Been waiting for the sun to come out so i could try out the old screwmount Takumer 17mm fisheye on my DS.

I guess the adaptor you need has a similar effect to an extension tube and will increase focal length?

Being a 17mm, and the Pentax having a 1.5 (?) crop factor, this is giving a FoV similar to a 24mm, I guess, hence the absence of too much distortion, although there is still some present.

I love the 2nd and third of these; the colour in the second is very good, and the contrast in the leaves in the third makes for a very good composition, IMHO.

And aren't the old lenses just wonderful?

the fisheye effect can be enhanced by tilting the lens away from the horizon but as the camera only uses the central part of the image you still don't get much of an effect on digital.
still, makes it a pretty good wide angle lens.

i have an 8 mm Sigma for real fisheye effect.

the adapter i use keeps the lens in the same place as a film body would.
the lessened effect is due to the crop factor.
still a nice piece of glass though
