I had another go at taking flame shots...

Took quite a few photos but didn't get that many that worked. Here are some I like. Not sure if others will like them or not...

I like the shape of this one and the colour in the match head

I like the smoke in this one and the 'texture'. I think that came from the flash reflecting off the black paper I was using as a background

In this one I like how there seems to be a flame inside the flame. Also the darkness of the matchstick is cool IMO


What do you guys think? I don't very often try out new things like this but it was kinda fun At least the matches stay still... not like the birds I'm usually chasing

These are fabulous! They need to be printed large and framed. Fine art.

Does anyone know how I can get more smoke in the photos?

I think I'd need to slow down the shutter speed but that blows out the flame...

Or would I have to do a double exposure?

I like the first and 4th pics the most. The second and third, while the smoke looks great, the green snot on the matchhead doesn't look very appealing...

Great pics and keep it up! It's great to see a photo series in progress.
