Just a couple of images for your C&C. Sunday, sunrise at DY Beach

First shot doesn't grab me - a little too much foreground sand I think. While the second image suffers from the same problem I really like it. The tonal range of the water and sky is great and the way the cresting wave leads my eye to the distant headland is a testament to your compositional skills. Shot on your Hasselblad?

Like #2 the slight diagnal line of the beach and wave and the cool moody colours. Feel much more of the sand could be cropped out though.

both shots suffer from too much foreground blankness.

The first shot is the better of the two here, but feel you need to crop all the sand from the shot and be left with a pano shot of the sunrise, which looks nice.

I just scroll the page down so I see what works for me.

This is a big advantage of a square format - you can crop what you want and the way you want - landscape or portrait

Technically, I had to go closer to the water but then I'd loose an advantage of higher point

yes, I've shot them with Hassy, developed and scanned film myself
