Darryl - you have well and truly used your last trip for a while to 'WTP' extremely well. Look forward with great interest to your waders.

When people ask what equipment I use - I tell them my eyes.
Great shots Darryl, the last few looks like they were under difficult lighting conditions. Can I ask (touching on another active thread) has much if any PP been done to these shots ?
Cheers, Craig
That;s skillfull work darryl
I know how hard it is just shooting slow moving objects the best oen compositionally is the 3rd and 2nd last I also noticed the desaturated tone of the sky which comopliments the subtle colours of the bird, nothing more annoying than a deeply polarized sky contrastign a beautiful bird with such colours i had no idea the sb800 could reach that far
You've done well to capture these shots. I appreciate how hard it can be and how patient you need to be to get these quailty shots. Congrats.
Beautiful, simply beautiful. Thanks for capturing some stunning pictures of these wonderful birds. The only chance some of us will get to see them in such detail

I've got a camera, it's black. I've got some lens, they are black as well.
1,2,4 had some clone tool done (haven't really figured out the heal tool) to reduce some of the blown highlights / loss plumage detail that were coming through around the head and tail (on 4).
11 I did some cloning to remove distracting branches behind the bird. All the photos have been processed using Adobe CameraRaw (no Nikon Capture), cropped, shadow/highlight tool, and contrast reduction. I think one of the photos I even applied noise reduction to due to the harsh lighting. Darryl (aka Kipper)
