Clever Tim, very clever, I really like it. I agree I think the lack of brightness suits them. May I ask where the pool table was ?

I like the shots, but the first one needs to have an even darkened effect for the background. There are different shades of darkeness in the shot.

However, I did have lots of wine since a surgeon I work with is leaving today. His colleague owns a vineyard and we had unlimited supply. Barely can type right. World is spinning and reviewing your shot Zeeke.

Nito.. the first one is actually darker in photoshop.. but for some reason its being shown slightly lighter online.. and giving a bit of a yellowish tinge to the image which im not totally happy with.. but i did have fluros above the table which wouldnt help

Fair enough, I was just wondering if it was a public table or a private one. Much easier to setup the shots in a home, rather then a club or bar. But I won't spoil your secret

 LOL.. Its at a Relatives Weekend Home nearby... house is only worth a couple of million... must be good money in being a Surgeon.. last time i heard they were paying 12,000 a month in tax

Nice work Tim! I like them both. The colour one has just a touch too much yellow in the green of the billiard table....but that's according to my monitor. I like it anyway.

Thanks Matt, ive updated the coloured image a bit.. it was being adjusted to srgb so it was lightening the image up a bit.. yellow tinge is still there.. ill work on it..

I like the composition of the first pick above all the others however the jaundice look about you is disturbing. A slightly tighter crop removing some of the table at the bottom of the shot and a more natural skin colour IMO would improve it significantly.

nice movement and capture i can see where your goign with the kind of mood your establishing in the 2nd but on the first it's too dark mabe lighten your half more just a tad and that would just be shmick

Been playing with the colours a lil bit and lightened the image a bit on the 1st.. lemme know what you think

It's definitely lighter, but the yellow colour cast is still there, if you really do look like the picture, I think you need to see a doctor.

Tanned skin under yellow Fluoros didnt help either... ill try editing some more... so far all my editing has been on my laptop.. which isnt the best thing to edit photos with, i should be using my desktop

I like the first one. Good mood, and the movement in the image helps.

To correct the yellow cast, forget about looking at the table or your skin. Look instead at the white patch around the number on the black 8 ball.

Aim to get that colour pure white, and the rest of the image will follow like a dog's owner being taken for a walk.

dunno bout trying to be creative.. i just had a spare 15mins ... and that exactly how much time i had, took 15 photos before going and cutting down a few palms..

Just curious....but what method do you use to colour balance your images if you think they are out of balance?

I use the colour balance sliders... play with them up and down till i can get something useable.. usually.. but doesnt always work

There are 4 or 5 different ways to pin down your colour balance and I sometimes have to use every one of them before I get what I want. Try this method......do a rough selection around the main colour that bothers you and go to IMAGE/ADJUST/VARIATIONS...If you see a square that seems to look better then go back and deselect the image. Then go back to variations and click on the image that looks better. Then go to EDIT/FADE VARIATIONS and play with the slider. This often gets me out of trouble.
Let me know if it works for you.

Tim your skin seems a lot better now, (not sure about the felt on the table, could just be the jpeg compression, or a result of the colour tweaking) it looks a bit funky.

didnt have time for a full game.. i just wacked a few balls on the table and got the camera setup with balls ready to be shot off... then set the timer, got in place and waited for the magic moment before taking a shot to get the movement

Looks better to me. Once again..it could just be the monitors.....but at my end it's looking good.
