I haven't been active lately, very busy with work.

While the Bromeliad doesn't grab me (the composition is a little awkward somehow because of the OOF leaf bottom right), the Grevillea is a different story altogether. Nice combo of colours, good composition and reasonably sharp (although a little more DOF would have been great)

I actually prefer the first one. The OOF leaf draws my eye to the colour and look of the actual flower.

I'm with Stubbsy on these. The first one almost looks over sharpened to me. Love the Grevillea

Of the two I prefer the Grevillea as well.

Just goes to show how so much is in the eye of the beholder...
Put me down for #1, I quite like the way the flower is behind the OOF greenery with more OOF greenery behind, like in a secluded spot or something...
The second one is too busy for me, but brilliant color! Wow what a striking flower! Have quite a few red & pink ones in the backyard but haven't seen one that bright before...
