I was playing around last night with one of the kids toys, and this is the end result.
They are straight out of the camera and the only PP was to crop the first one. What do you think? Leave the toys for the kids to play with? Try again? Just give up? Any suggestions welcome. Blue1

It is a little torch with optical fibres. A $2.50 toy. The ball is plastic "crystals" covering the globe.

Mal, to be honest they don't work for me. Perhaps because I recongnised the toy, so they didn't feel as abstract. I can see how some people would like them, but I'm afraid I won't be buying a print, not even a big one.

The colours are great, but the shallow DOF in #1 doesn't work for me. It appears a series of a blurs and no one object/area appears to be sharp. I like #2 better for this reason.

Always a pleasure to look at your photos
These types of photos make really tasty backgrounds for brochures our design department bought a CD from getty images called the skan 9 collection with random bokeh / blurred backgrounds.
Im always a fan of blue, and blue on black is always tasty. I wonder if you could use a little light painting - a torch and long shutter speed to bring out some of the fronds a little... A great and cheap idea! Jonathan
I can see #2 on one of my walls but #1 dosen't do it for me.
