it looks like a end of the world shot. Its a though you are approaching a ruined cityscape at dawn. The natural light off the horizon and clouds are really cool.

love the way the suns rays come thru the clouds.

would be much nicer with more light at the bottom.

It's a buzz when you catch sun rays streaming through clouds like this, an almost heavenly image... Well worth getting up early for :)

I prefer the extra light in the second shot,
having said that though, the clouds arent as dramatic.

Leon - The first shot is a really nice capture with the rays of light, well done.
With the pano, did you shoot in manual ? Or were you using a different mode? Just it looks like the exposure isn't that even (particularly in the water where there is apparent banding)?
If you did shot in manual, do you know why you still got just a dramatic change in exposure ?

Awesome picture! Really proves that the kit lens is a very capable peice of glass!
