Some nice shots, I've seen that blonde before (the one with BBJ) she's definitely a charmer! I wonder if the Canon bloke with last years vest didn't get a new one for 2006, so decided to sneak in with the old one ?

Love it how he doesn't have an end cap on that big prime

The rear glass is usually not far from the end of the lens, I'd hate to see what happens if it gets dropped or scrapped against something

it's the way how the pro shoot and uses their gears, don't worry about it too much, they'll buy another one, if that's gone, or the lenses are not belonged to him.
Don't buy any used gears from the Pros, remember it.

The blue pit lane vest is the same one they were using last year at mt Panorama. I managed to get my hands on one, they only let you book them out use them for about 30 minutes, and you have to book in advance. They give you access to pit lane and into the pit bays. Not bad to have one.

Obviously AVESCO must be working to a budget and haven't got around to getting new ones

Actually, with canon tele's the rear element is usually 3-5cm in, and the TC's all have protruding front elements that poke into this space. It means there's room to hold quite a lot of dust plus the occasional acorn or walnut (in season only). If you hit the end of the lens you'd probably trash the lens mount but you'd have to do a lot of damage before you got to the rear element.

nearly none of the pros I know from NewsLTD treat their eqiupment well at all. saw a niiice big Nikkor 600 f/4 in the News Photographers back room today - I hope the lens wasn't as trashed as the metal box it was in!

Had to laugh at the shooter with the 2005 vest - dodgy :p wonder how long he'd last in pit lane before getting turfed.
