Okay,

after seeing Daniel_r's nice Bogey Hole photos, I thought, well, I live here, so I should go back there. See his really nice photos here:

I knew I was in trouble when it started raining on the way there, but I kept going. It was still drizzling when I got to the parking lot , but I pulled the AW cover out of the mini-trekker , down to the Bogey Hole I go. They had been predicting a nice day for today, but if I would have listened more closely, it would be nice after a few MORNING showers!!

I still got some nice photos, a bit wild and grey, but I think they still are okay. Due to the big crashing waves, I wasn't able to get where I really wanted to be, so the perspective is a bit higher. Oh, and it was high tide



And this one looking back south along the cliff.

Some wild weather there Andre, it's amazing looking at this shots, Daniel's and yours and (Stubbsy's?) earlier how many different moods and atmospheres the Boogey Hole can show. Great stuff.

Yep

Really shows the power of the ocean - especially that first one! Well captured.

#1. I don't blame you for not getting any closer... Photographer + Camera in the drink doesn't contribute a whole lot to the image making process

Is that Wendell in the first, standing near the fence and getting some images from up close and personal?

I do like the first of these; very nicely exposed and well captured.

Another vote for the first image from me. It's really a lovely image - well composed and exposed.

Oh, and aquick heads up to anyone wanting to take photos of the NSW coastline over the next few days. I just heard on the radio that we're expecting storm surges as a result of TC Wati.

I think the fact that you've got these images in inclement weather gives the shots more emotion and power, shows the angry water etc...

Both these images show the power of mother nature, some of the best beach shoreline shots are during "bad" weather, they show another "side" to the standard blue sky beach shots...

Wondering whether it's worth trying to make the person standing on the edge of the rocky platform in the second stand out more and make them a stronger part of the image, I initially didn't notice them while looking for a few minutes... Maybe by selecting the person and playing with levels etc to make them stand out a bit more? Just a thought...

Actually, there was nobody there. I was the only crazy one at that time of the morning on a Sunday!!

This is a similar photo, but I took this one with my graduated filter sideways, since the water was going to be brighter, so I tried to get a bit more exposure in the rocks on the left side.

As ABG mentioned, the swell is really picking up, would be pretty wild in the morning, pity I can't go

looking back at the photos, found this variation on the first one, not as wild and because of the sea weed, a bit more colour. A very different feel.
