had a play around the house with a Bird of Paradise in our back yard. After minor surgery and black cardboard and a different perspective this is what I have..........

I like all three of your persepectives. A subject that is one of my favorites and nicely photographed. Thanks.

Beautiful Paul,

they are an amazing flower to photograph and you have done great here. My only comment would be on the second one to have just a little bit of black extra on the left, so that the flower doesn't touch the frame.

Very nicely composed. What lens did you use?

Cheers,

André

Excellent work and great angles. The bird of paradise has got to be one of the most interesting flowers to photograph. Its sometimes difficult to get the whole darn thing in the frame! An interesting thing to note that its one of the most Googled image-searched flowers - if my stat counter info on my PBase site is correct!

Cheers
Sheila

I agree about the black on number 2, too bad I didn't have the space when I shot :? #1 and #2 were shot with the 70-200 VR and #3 was with a 50mm 1.8

Wow, the black background makes the color in these stunning flowers really jump out!

As already mentioned, would have liked a smidge more room on the left in #2, that one being the pick for me...

The lighting seems really nice and diffused in #2 and #3, whereas #1 seems to have hotspots?

Stunning flower...
