Newtown Markets

Took some ok photos at the free markets in Newtown yesterday, just got them onto the web now. I quite like the look the dog is giving me (@12mm, so I'm a good 30cm away from it) but it seems a bit cluttered:

I love that first shot! The dog has a fantastic expression as if he's thinking "what the heck are you up to?"... Also like the fact that the person smiling or laughing in the background is also a part of the scene...

The second one looks like a good natural, candid people shot, just the background that might distract, but hey you take what you can get with candid people stuff huh...

#1 is good - the look from the dog is fantastic and the smiling people in the background add to it.

However, It does need to be cropped or cloned slightly on the left hand side (can see a persons head coming into the frame at top left)

Thanks. It was tricky to get the facial expressions right without trying to make people dance for me. Frames each side of this one there were less happy expressions on at least one of them. At least the dog wasn't trying to sniff the lens (can be an issue with short lenses, it gets close enough and <lick>).

Pharmer, I was tempted to try cloning out the heap top left but it's hiding a brick archway... it'd be a lot of work to copy, rotate, align. Or is there a PS cheat I've missed?

second shot... just the background that might distract

Yeah, I cropped it a tiny bit to remove the dark shadow on the left of that white pillar, but I probably should have gone lower and had sky in the background instead. I'm finding just getting good facial expressions is hard enough, but more work on the details is needed.
