Not my usual caper,but im trying new stuff.

I really like the first, the second for me isn't as strong.
When you want to, mind letting us know what it is ?

Willy W they are both quite intriguing abstracts. I seem to come back to number one but in doing so it feels like my gaze is continually spat out to the periphery of the image only to follow the strands back to centre bottom of frame and out again. Quite interesting.

You got it Rel
A species of XANTHORRHOEA (Black boy/Grass tree). This particular species has a wavey pattern through its leaves.

G'day WW,
These are terrific, I prefer the way the lines radiate out in the first more than the second, hmmm just thinking about it, now I'm wondering if the highlight in the TL cnr of the first is what's making me prefer the first...
Good abstract, they work well for me...

I guess these come down to a matter of taste. I'm not big into abstract pictures so these don't appeal to me too much.
That said, the first picture is definately stronger than the 2nd. I can appreciate what you're trying to do with these.
Well done for trying new things.
