I took this pic for a calendar but the guy didn't want it because the spray wasn't big enough, however that was probably the largest spray of the day.

I realise that it's not the best image artistically, but I tried to get elements in all parts of the frame.

What do you think?

Thanks,

Hi Owen,

For me, there really is nothing to hold me in the image. Just scan it, then that's it. As you say, the spay is pretty small, if it would have been bigger, I probably would have liked to see it to the right of the photo, that would then hold my attention.

Probably a few too many tourists as well, but that may have been what your client wanted.

Good try anyway, it's a pretty nice spot to be waiting for a big one. Hope you had some good wet gear to protect you camera, just in case

Cheers,

André

Thanks Radar. It was one of those shots that you just take because you are there, so no control over any of the elements except my position. The seas were small, the light was harsh... the people like flies :)

Thanks for the comments mate.

Cheers,
Owen.

G'day mate,

Wonder if you could get closer so the foreground isn't the rock, but rather looking over the cliff face and seeing just the water spray as the foreground... For a touristy thing I think the background is well placed... Nice sky too...

Maybe next time take a thermos, a folding chair, and wait, and wait, and wait...
