Wow, the texture and contrasting color... I really enjoy when mother nature turns it on in the sky...
It's an experience whatching it unfold huh...
I just take a thermos, some odds and sods and sit and take it in...

Mark it sure was spectacular! I was kicking myself all the way to a school function for the kids. The sunrise this morning was even better.

the colours are exactly how they looked.... only pp'ing was an increase in shadow detail plus some contrast.

Colours are great, they would all make very good stock images.

thanks mate... no... it's been very very quiet up here for a while.... always happens... have a spurt of fires and then it goes quiet. unfortunately we are getting into the worst period for house fires... once people start bringing out those heaters and not using common sense bad things happen.

slightly o/t but we had a shocking year last year for house fires in NSW. It's now law, as of today, that houses must have smoke detectors in them.
How will they police that? who knows.... But it's a nice idea.

all rental properties have to have smoke alarms in them now. it's part of the appication process. here's some details about house sales etc.
from a qfrs faq:
How will the smoke alarm laws be policed?
On the sale of a property from 1 July 2007, the vendor will have to lodge a Form 24 with the Queensland Land Registry, stating that operational smoke alarms are installed in the property.
The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service will check the forms lodged at the land registry to monitor compliance with the laws.
Fire Officers will also investigate complaints received about residential non-compliance.
There will also be a maximum fine of $375 for failing to install alarms by 1 July 2007.
