One of the shots I did for the self portrait exercise - it's kind of hard to set up, hit the shutter, bolt over to the seat, and kind of figure out what you are doing... well hard for me anyway

Looks crappy, but at least I had a go

Rel,
Very nice. I like the composition quite a lot. I would increase details in shadows though a bit, but this is subject to taste. Alex
You did very well i like it!

Actually, surprisingly 'Black and stormy'. I like the image very much. As an option try cutting a bit of the black from the right to centre you in the image for balance as an alternative but it looks fine to me as it is. Rather than rushing back to the seat have you a remote release?

Nice first attempt at a self portrait, Narelle. Especially considering you didn't use a remote release and had to race back to chair.
Cheers Michael
a nice self portrait.
low key works well, I like the shadows as they are but would crop closer Steve check out my image gallery @

I have to agree with the other comments. A very nice image but in need of a serious crop.

I like it a lot - love how the light just illuminates certain parts of you to create an outline of your profile.
