Keith,
Let me be the 1st person here and say stunning. What a great series.
#1 great demo of DoF..where are all the little kiddies stuffing balls in? U must have gotten in early..
#3 Love the duck, sharp and the detail in the feathers is amazing. Again great DoF.
#5...love the emotion and b&w treatment.
Top stuff..

Great collection of shots Keith.
I like the DOF used in both the Clowns and the Duck photo (this is actually one of the best duck photos I've seen on the forum, and there has been plenty).
#2 has is a great capture, the black and white suits it, very nice candid
#4 Homer Invasion!! Not as strong technically but just a humour capture
#5 I love the pose here, is it a look of defeat, or is he just calming himself to get back up and keep riding, is he winded or hurt ... not that you could of done much about it, but shame the skateboard hadn't roller another foot or so to the left

Yeah, all very nice indeed. I especially love the duck. Great comp, great light, great DOF.
Where's the clich'e rodeo bucking horse pic? Plenty of days left to get that I guess though.
Looks like Trevor Ward is getting a little frustrated there aye?
So if you are shooting under acredditation, are these just throw away images? Who are you shooting for and what goodies did they get?
I was supposed to be there today except I got raped by dust bunnies. They got there own today but
I'll be there next friday and the following Tuesday, might see you around.

Excellent Firsty... A good eye for composition and these shots are technically excellent...
I had resolved not to go to the Show this year, but you've almost tempted me...

Fantastic photos. I reckon you have done brilliantly to get the essence of the show there. Great stuff. That is the best duck photo i've seen on this site

It's got the emotion of capture and jailing.

Does that mean you're a Homersexual?

Keith. A good group, but the duck is the standout. Masterful use of DOF

Like everyone else, I reckon the clowns and the duck are excellent shots!
The duck shot in particular conveys a lot of emotion ... well done.

thanks for all the kind comments
I had a ball at the show looking for patterns, colours and shots where shallow depth of field would work (still trying lots of things as I learn the D200)
with the duck shot I spent about 1/2 an hour working on this look after I looked down a row of bird cages and saw that a chicken or two would put their head out every so often.... but it was hard to get the lighting on the fancy looking chickens and they were moving too fast. Then I moved onto the geese but they were hissing and spiting at me. finally I found this duck down in the corner who was behaving just right and by the time I got to it I had worked out the angle needed to get this shot I wanted
the final shot of the skate boarder was taken at the end of the demonstration and he was absolutely stuffed and was catching his breath after pulling off some great moves (no idea what they were but they looked cool) I had tried lots of action shots but I was in a poor position so the backgrounds were all wrong so nothing worth posting, but as soon as I took this shot I knew I had a keeper
the fun you can have when you have a day off on strike (thanks to the new IR laws)
