Hi all.

Finch very kindly gave me a dome for my lightsphere a couple of days ago and although I was a huge fan of the lighsphere by itself, I'm even more impressed with the dome. The following shot is a VERY rough and ready comparison of a no-flash shot against the dome lightsphere shot. Both images: 1/500, f7, matrix metering, manual mode, RAW. (PS: Emily was not in a good mood this afternoon...otherwise I would have done a few more with normal flash, no diffuser))

Glad you have had a chance to use dome with lightsphere. It really does make a difference to the lighting on Emily's face.

I have also had a go this morning, at my first portraits ever (my wife kindly agreed to model), using my newly acquired lightsphere and dome and am pleased with results. Using dome definitely reduces harsh light from flash when it is pointed at subject.

Sounds like Dena was a lot more cooperative than Emily was, Mike! Be great to see some shots or maybe we'll wait 'til the outdoor portrait shoot to put the PJs through their paces. As you know, I;ve used it for a lot of macro work but I haven't used the domw before (thanks again!) and it seems to really lend itself to portraiture.

I have run out to the office to get away from my version of Emily. Little darlings. Great comparison.
I bought a LSII and inverted dome a couple of weeks ago. Shooting macros it really helps minimse the hot spots. Well worth the $80 pricetag.

I got mine from Quality Camera Sales. Ordered it 3PM one day and had it 9AM the next
